- Amazon is a great place for frugal shoppers to save money. You buy in bulk like at a Sams, Cosco, or BJ's but many times you save yourself money over these because of discount codes. These discount codes can provide free shipping or a percentage off. Amazon also offers subscribe and save... by using this service you can save yourself 15% on your purchase... the best part is you can cancel anytime you want. Many times I order through subscribe and save, but before it is time for them to send my next order I have found a better deal. So I cancel and do not worry with the next shipment. HINT: I always set mine up to ship every 6 months- this gives me plenty of time to use what I have and to decide if I need/want that next order. In our family we strive to buy as much organic as possible... Amazon helps to make this possible on a budget less than many families spend buying commercial products.
- Always look for deals that you can stack coupons on. Most of the time you can get a product for free or nearly free by stacking coupons. To stack coupons you will need a store coupon and a manufacturer coupon. Pay attention to limits set by the store (Ex: Walgreens usually sets a limit on how many items you can buy at their low price).
- Know which stores double coupons... this will make your coupons work harder for you. My absolute favorite store for double coupons is Kroger! Tip: Wal-Mart does not double coupons
- Have you ever used e-coupons? If not you should... they become little unexpected surprises at the checkout. Once again my favorite store for e-coupons is Kroger. It's simple... all you do is load them onto your Kroger card (the same one that gets you advertised deals). This is as easy as going to kroger.com and cellfire.com. There you can login and then upload new coupons to your card (when you create an account you need to save your card so that you do not have to re-enter it every time). You can print a list of e-coupons(available on your card) to take with you on your shopping trip also!
- OKay so I know that I constantly talk about Kroger... I shop the Kroger in Cabot. I love it because they carry a descent amount of Organic, I get double coupons, e-coupons, coupons from the store through the mail (they track what you buy and send you coupons for those items- these are great to stack with- I currently get 2 sets/month), and I earn $ off gas. I get at least 2 tanks at .10 off per gallon each month (this may only be a $3.20/month savings- but that nearly pays for a Starbucks run). This store truly plays a huge role in us staying in budget each month.
- Sign up with Vocalpoint.com. They send out freebies and great coupons. I have been a member for years!
